TOP DAY AT TRUSCOTT

Again, the day was all so close to being perfect. The youth once again needed a stack of goals (15 would have been nice) but only managed a 9-1 victory, and this may not be enough to close the gap with Epsom. Our Championship season has finished for the youth, while Epsom have two games left, both danger games, and we will be relying on either Strathdale or Spring Gully to take a point in their last two games. All is not lost, so we will be watching closely.
The Seniors bounced back after a disappointing result last week at home to City, demolishing old rivals Colts 3-0. Likewise, the seconds are closing in on the Championship with one game remaining, beating Colts in a danger game 4-1.
Unfortunately, the girls were sadly under strength v one of the better women's sides in Colts and although very good, could not convert going down 2-5. With one game to go, and a point clear of Epsom, we will need all three when we travel to Swan Hill in a fortnight.

| Week Off | updated August 25, 2010 |
Well a well earnt two weeks off coming up, with our next match not til 12th of September up in Swan Hill. The combination of the catch up round and our bye combining to see us out of the action for a fortnight, though our YOUTH side play their final League Cup fixture on the 1st of Sept out at Epsom at 6.30. All three games will be important, but not quite as important as the Division Two and Women's matches, where the win will secure Championships. Both games v Swan Hil will be testing, with both sides coming off wins last time they played at home, but at full strength, you would think both should get away with wins. The real tricky part is Swan Hill's lack of players seeing most of their SENIOR side taking the field in the twos, which is always a problem for the twos. However, our depth of experience in the seconds has seen us through so far, so with fingers crossed securely, we head North with confidence. The girls' game is also a tester, with the make up of the squad all important. Swan Hill had their first win v Castlemaine last week, and looked good, so the visiting Borough will have to be on their game. The Ones face the Swannies and this will be a great hit out for the side before KO Cup. The youngsters will take on a similar make of side and with most doubling up for the home side, you would think our side can hold the key cards on the day. The youth as mentioned, play their final League Cup match this week, but will be praying for a dropped point by Epsom in their next two matches v Spring Gully and Strath. One point will do it, and so will 1-0 and 1-0 results to Epsom, but the likely scenario will see us just behind on goal difference.

| Under 14 Clean Sweep | updated August 24, 2010 |
A terrific effort from our Under 14 sides has seen a clean sweep of both the As and Bs, with neither side losing a game for the year. A top effort from the Dactyls and Condors saw them TOP THE TABLE in their respective divisions. Well done to all the players, and well done to coaches Andrew and Alf on their achievements. The potential for the Under 16s next year is extraordinary, with plenty of talent coming through and plenty sitting there ready for 2011. Both sides secured their championship title with postponed games in hand.... a fantastic result!!
